Wintersong

Winter unleashes its frozen breath
And reaches out with icy grace
Conquers, freezes, deals out death
Few escape its cold embrace

The skeleton trees are quiet, sleeping
The snow seems to absorb all sound
The river, though, will not be silenced
Always running, gliding down

Roaring on in majesty
Icy torrent can't be caught
Snow may edge along the banks
But silence it, the ice cannot

Icicles drop their tiny pearls
Deep pools mirror the winter skies
And all reflect the icy blue
Found in the depths of an angel's eyes
