East

In the style of Browning. Not sure if I like the meter...

Strength of midday rays have ceased
Last hope fading in the west
Twilight creatures rise from rest
As shadows glide in from the east

ceased and east is a great rhyme that I wouldn't have thought of in a thousand years. I like how daylight is associated with hope. It makes the next two lines so ominous. I might be way off, but thats what I enjoyed about this poem.
